THERE ARE THOSE WHO REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE, BUT WHO ARE PERCEIVED AS MARGINAL OR NOT VERY TRANSPARENT.
Transferring money abroad, safely, to one’s family is indispensable to immigrants. Those who offer this service, know this well. They know how important it is to offer a safe, fast and inexpensive means of doing so, perhaps in a shop close to the workplace, which is open until late.
We have helped the main world companies in this sector explaining to institutions the needs of these foreign workers and how the payment system works.
Financial institutions have helped us to delineate the context and the dimensions of this phenomenon.
We have translated numbers and data in as many reasons and needs.
We have told the story from another point of view so as to defeat prejudices and unfounded suspicions.
Today we are the first in Europe to have constituted a Working Group to dialogue with a sole voice with all the stakeholders.
Today the Working Group sits at the most important institutional round tables and is a reference point for the sector, and also for the media.
Appearances can be deceiving
THERE ARE GLOBAL MARKET LEADERS WHO REMAIN UNKNOWN IN THIS COUNTRY.
“At the end of the day it’s just an App”, we started here, with the global leader in online bookings, to show-on the other hand- how much work is behind a simple and functional platform. We have convinced IT experts to make real what once only appeared as virtual. We have explained how the system works. We have shown the faces of three hundred Italian employees, their desks, computers, paperwork and contracts. We have explained to passersby the tourism of the future through fashion, sport and design. “If it didn’t exist, we should invent it”, is what a small hotel owner in Sicily recently said to us.
Freedom is participation
YOU MIGHT HAPPEN TO BE SMALL, AND YET SUCCEED IN BREAKING A BIG MONOPOLY IN TWO.
Many film stars—more than a thousand—had been unable to get their hands on the modest royalties they were due for the retransmission of a film or TV series.
And the same can be said for musicians with their songs.
We went to Parliament, in suit and tie, to ask that regulations be modified and that the embarrassing monopoly, that thought only about power and not about the artists, be abolished.
As well as to ask that actors be allowed to choose to whom they could entrust their earnings.
We have produced videos, organized press conferences and interviews, participated in parliamentary hearings, met with ministers and undersecretaries.
Today that monopoly no longer exists. The laws have changed and actors have a cooperative that belongs just to them; musicians have one too.
Today Europe also agrees with us.
It’s been a tough battle. We’ve even written a book about it.
We once again have an Institute for Industrial Reconstruction (I.R.I.-Istituto per la Ricostruzione Industriale) and we didn’t even notice.
IT IS THE FIRST IN A SERIES OF MEETINGS ON THEMES RELATED TO THE ECONOMY, INTEREST GROUPS AND INSTITUTIONS.
VERA has started, in collaboration with Il Foglio, a series of appointments—under the name “What the country needs”—on themes related to the Economy, Interest Groups and Institutions, with the goal of presenting in an innovative way contents and debates, involving the principal figures and experts in the fields treated.
The first meeting “We once again have an Institute for Industrial Reconstruction and we didn’t even notice” was held June 15 at the Associazione Civita.
Recognizing the excellence of Foreign Entrepreneurship in Italy
FOR THE PAST NINE YEARS, THE ONLY NATIONAL AWARD DEDICATED TO THE GREATEST SUCCESS STORIES OF IMMIGRANT ENTREPRENEURS IN ITALY
Since 2007, a multinational company, world leader in the field of the transfer of money remittances, has organized in Italy the prestigious prize, with the goal of rewarding and promoting excellence among the companies managed and founded by immigrant entrepreneurs in Italy.
Every year the Prize contributes in telling of the human and professional experiences of immigrants in our country, while giving recognition to their achievements in sectors of Growth, Innovation, Employment, Youth Entrepreneurship and Social Responsibility.
Recent editions, where VERA has collaborated, saw the participation of Speaker of the House, Hon. Laura Boldrini at the awards ceremony.
This year we have opened the selection to similar experiences in other countries, in the aim of becoming an example and a model at a European level.
A pro bono communications campaign
IN 2016, OUR HELP WAS ASKED IN RELAUNCHING COMMUNICATIONS FOR THE RADICALI ITALIANI (ITALIAN RADICALS POLITICAL PARTY)...WE DIDN’T HAVE A MOMENT’S HESITATION.
In 2016, the Italian Radicals asked us to help them relaunch their communications. We didn’t have a moment’s hesitation and got right to work.
We called one of the most important Italian illustrators and graphic artists, Lorenzo Ceccotti, and in the space of a month, we got right down to work.
Together we revamped their website and made a video, to remind everyone that having a movement like that of the Radicals was a precious asset. We all gained from the experience, should we agree with them or not.
